The project has faced opposition from local residents concerned about property values, safety, and environmental impacts. Meanwhile, the parish is experiencing growth in the petrochemical industry, including a $3.4 billion expansion of the Shintech facility, which is expected to create 163 direct new jobs and 655 indirect new jobs, totaling 818 new job opportunities in the Capital Region. |
