A $500 million data center proposed by CyrusOne in the southwest part of Sangamon County, Illinois. The project involves building a 1.5 million square feet facility equipped with 421 diesel backup generators, powered by the Double Black Diamond solar farm and cooled primarily through closed-loop air cooling. The data center will operate at 634 megawatts once all four buildings are completed, with phased construction starting with the first building to be finished within a year to a year and a half.
