The project involves the partial divestiture of the electricity distribution company (DSICOM) in the Dadra, Nagar Haveli, Daman, and the island of Diu Union Territory (UT) in India. The sponsor - Torrent Power, acquired 51% stake in a newly formed SPV, which is called Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (DNHDDPDCL), from the administrator of the Union Territory (with 49%). Torrent Power will be responsible for distribution and retail supply of electricity for around 150 thousand inhabitants of the UT. The contract award method for this project was a competitive bidding with Torrent Power winning by outbidding the other participants with an offer of $73.35m.
