Description | DeWind Energy PPP (a subsidiary of Daewoo) was a partnership set up to build and operate a 300 MW wind farm to be located in Aysha, Ethiopia. The project was designed as a PPP, however the actual structure of the deals were not released. Contractual details were not released, but it was clear that the project would sell power to the Ethiopian state utility, EEPco. Equipment was supplied by Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology (SHE:002202; HKG:2208), from China. Total project cost of the 60 MW phase 1 of the project was estimated at USD 120 million, but it was unclear as to whether the project had indeed reached financial close.
