Description
Description | The project ‘Daily withdrawal capacity increase – Bilciuresti UGS’ contributes to the implementation of PCI Project 6.20.7 and aims at increasing the daily delivery capacity of gas, in Bilciuresti Underground Gas Storage, from 14 million SMC/day up to 20 million SMC/day (43% increase), associated with an increase in storage capacity of 108 million SMC/cycle (9% increase). The project will develop new surface facilities, enabling to take over the additional flow, but it will also upgrade and complete the existing ones, ensuring a high degree of operational safety and an enlarged natural gas infrastructure. The project activities consist of the following: the design, execution and commissioning of a new gas collector, a battery of injection/ withdrawal gas separators, the modernization of the cooling system, the modernization of the wells and of storage groups located in the operational area of the Bilciuresti underground gas storage and the digitalization of the underground gas storage process. The implementation of the project will contribute to increasing the security of supply and market integration, by increasing transport flows and diversifying natural gas resources, both in Romania and at Southeast Europe level, and by ensuring flexibility in operations and network balancing services, backing-up the renewable energy production. |
