Description

Description

The financing will be used for the 17KM extension of the Dakar-Diamniadio toll road in Senegal. The expansion will connect the existing motorway to Dakar’s new international airport and to the coastal tourist areas while also streamlining the road link between Dakar and Thies, via a dual carriageway toll road. The financing includes $24.9m in debt provided by IFC, West African Development Bank (BOAD), African Development Bank and CBAO. France’s Agence Francaise de Developpement (AFD) provided a grant of $110m. The project is sponsored by Eiffage subsidiary Societe Eiffage de la Nouvelle Autoroute Concedee (Senac). New SENAC was supported through a €76 million debt financing package: • €50 million was mobilized from the AfDB, CBAO, one of the main Senegalese commercial banks and the Western African Development Bank. IFC, acting as lead arranger and global coordinator, invested a total of €26 million in SENAC, including senior and subordinated long-term debt, for the existing toll road and its expansion. IFC is also to be the exclusive hedge provider for the financing. http://documents.worldbank.org/curated/en/180721468001191421/Senegal-Dakar-toll-road-extension
