Description
Description | The rainbow-colored crosswalks in Dallas' Cedar Springs LGBTQ+ district, which were privately funded and installed to express the neighborhood's queer cultural identity, are being removed following orders from the Trump administration and Texas Governor Greg Abbott. The crosswalks will be replaced by standard white crosswalk stripes by April 28, 2026. The North Texas LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce raised funds for the installation and repainting of these crosswalks. The removal follows directives to eliminate political messages and artwork from streets, with government funding threatened to be withheld from non-compliant states and municipalities. |
