The project involves the US$4 billion development, expansion, construction, and operation of Damascus International Airport in Syria.The project aims to rebuild and modernize the airport infrastructure — including new passenger terminals, upgraded airside and landside facilities, enhanced access roads, cargo and logistics systems, and passenger services. Once fully completed, the airport’s capacity will be raised to handle 31 million passengers per year. The plan is structured in multiple phases, beginning with the opening of a new terminal and infrastructure upgrades, and later expanding to include additional terminals, multiple gates, boarding bridges, advanced navigation systems, commercial zones, and improved passenger amenities — all meant to reestablish the airport as a major regional hub with world-class standards.
