Description | The Stan Lander 5612 logistic support vessel is designed to serve the logistics requirements of navies across the globe. The vessels are designed to serve the logistics requirements of navies across the globe. It can be deployed in humanitarian assistance and support evacuation missions during natural disasters. Stan Lander 5612 has been ordered by the naval forces of Bolivia, Bahamas, Venezuela and Panama. The first four ships in the class were assembled at the Damex shipyard in Cuba for the Venezuelan Navy. The lead ship in the class, Los Frailes (T-91 AB), was delivered in April 2012. Other ships in the class include The Witnesses (T-92 AB), Los Roques (T-93AB) and The Monks (T-94B). The National Naval-Air Service (Servicio Nacional Aeronaval: SENAN) of Panama placed a $16m order with Damen for the delivery of a Stan Lander 5612. The vessel was commissioned into service with the SENAN in May 2018. The Stan Lander 5612 incorporates a simple and industry-proven hull design. The hull and superstructure of the vessel are made of steel. The vessel has a large free deck area of 350m², which enables easy loading of cargo into the vessel. It features a small ramp at the bow section, which allows loading and unloading of vehicles. The logistics vessel is classified under the special service / landing craft category by Bureau Veritas. It can accommodate a maximum of 16 crew members in seven double-crew cabins, a captain’s cabin and an officer’s cabin. The overall length of the vessel is 57.27m, while its maximum draught is 2.95m. The overall beam is 12m and depth is 3.90m. The fuel oil tank and cargo oil tank capacities of the vessel are 94.3m³ and 225.7m³, respectively. The vessel features a freshwater tank with a maximum capacity of 16.2m³ and can carry a maximum load of 500t. Deck equipment on the ship includes a large crane, capstan, anchor and anchor winches. The optional equipment and systems on board the ship include bilge pumps, bilge water separator, sewage treatment system, fuel oil separator, fuel oil cargo pump and freshwater cargo pump. The navigation equipment on the ship includes an Alphabridge integrated navigational system, JRC JMA5312-6 X-band radar and JLR 700 GPS module. The vessel also integrates a JHS 183 automatic identification system (AIS), Seapilot MFC autopilot system and JFE 380 echosounder. The logistics vessel is fitted with an external global maritime distress and safety system (GMDSS) A3 communication system, Ben Marine Anthea speed log, Alphaminicourse gyrocompass, and Alphabinnacle H magnetic compass. The logistics support vessel is powered by two MTU engines, which can produce a total power output of 1,200bkW (1610bhp). The engines are coupled to two fixed-pitch propellers (FPP) through Reintjes WVS series gearboxes. The manoeuvrability is further enhanced by a single 150kW Veth VT-150 bow thruster. The power plant enables a maximum speed of 11k and maximum range of 3,000nmi. The auxiliary power systems on board the vessels include two Caterpillar 187kVA main generator sets and one Caterpillar 49kVA harbour generator set.
