Description | The Danapith Fire Station redevelopment project is located within the core heritage area of Ahmedabad's World Heritage City. The project has been reviewed by ICOMOS and UNESCO, which advised that it should not proceed due to its direct and lasting negative impact on the property's Outstanding Universal Value (OUV) and the stimulation of motorised traffic inside the property. A revised plan reduced the building height by 3 metres to 15 metres, but UNESCO noted this was insufficient to reduce the building's volume to an acceptable level. |
