"It is no secret that sports and dance have often been compared to each other. And they have more in common than seems. But can dance be a sport? Absolutely, yes! Hockey, football, dance may be grouped together as sports. A significant number of research studies have discovered the great impact dancing does on human population regarding health: 1.Improves condition of heart, lungs. 2.Increases muscular strength, endurance, motor fitness, aerobic fitness. 3.Improves muscle tone and strength. 4.Manages weight. 5.Strengthens bones and reduces risk of osteoporosis. 6.Improves coordination, agility, flexibility. 7.Stimulates brain. 8.Increases energy. 9.Reduces depression, minimizes stress. 10.Increases social improvement, confidence. The main goal of the project is to promote sports and physical activity through dancing. The aims to achieve it are to: 1.Encourage the participation in sports and reduce dropout from sport and physical activity through dancing. 2.Promote sport and physical activity through dancing as a tool for health, wellbeing. 3.Promote socialization, creativity and fun in and through dance as an inclusive environment. Erasmus+ Priorities promoted by the project: 1) Encouraging healthy lifestyle for all; 2) The promotion of sport and physical activity as a tool for health. Additionally the project addresses the priority of Inclusion and diversity. During the last few years the world has been struck by a series of plagues. First, the whole world was struck by restrictions due to Covid-19. It had not finished yet, when a year ago a war in Ukraine started. But just a month ago Türkiye and Syria was hit by a magnificent earthquake. And dancing as a social activity can help to release and/or control emotions, help coping with difficult situations. The project team believes that in this manner dancing and this project results could help people stand against all the mentioned ""plagues"" and help recover from them, hoping that all three will end in a near future."
