Description | Dangote Industries Limited is establishing a $17 billion oil refinery on Lamu Island, Kenya. The refinery will have a processing capacity of 700,000 barrels of crude oil per day and aims to supply refined petroleum products to Kenya and neighboring countries, reducing regional dependence on imported fuel. Preliminary engineering and site development are underway, with soil investigations and engineering design in progress ahead of full-scale construction. The project is expected to take about three years to complete and will be East Africa's largest refining facility. |
