Danielson Provincial Park Sewage Lagoon Upgrade

Danielson Provincial Park currently treats its sewage in a two-cell, facultative lagoon system. The lagoon is currently oversized for the amount of effluent it processes, due to the shutdown of a year-round correctional facility in the area. The lagoon needs to be downsized and re-lined for it to operate effectively as a facultative lagoon. The project planning phase will include assessment of sewage disposal and treatment needs in the Danielson Provincial Park, identification of upgrade options, and will confirm the final approach for the sewage lagoon improvements. A detailed engineered design and tender documents will be prepared to meet applicable capacity and regulatory requirements. The project scope is expected to include earthwork resizing of the existing primary and secondary cells, installation of an HDPE liner, as well as improvements to the transfer structure, dump station, fencing, and access. Required consultations will occur and regulatory approvals will be obtained for all work associated with this project.
