Description | The Darden Clean Energy Project is a large-scale solar and battery energy storage project located on fallowed farmland in western Fresno County, California. It will include a 1,150-megawatt solar facility with approximately 3.1 million solar panels and up to 1,150 megawatts of battery storage using 1,440 Tesla Megapack 2XL units. The project aims to power about 850,000 homes for four hours and is expected to create over 1,200 construction jobs and 16 full-time operational jobs. It was approved by the California Energy Commission in June 2025 under a fast-track state law. |
