The Dares Datça 29.6 MW Wind Farm Project involved the development of a 29.6 MW onshore wind farm in the Mugla Province, Datça District in Turkey. Electricity generated by the wind farm would be delivered to the Turkish national grid. Demirer Enerji Üretim A.S. and ENERCON GmbH were both 50% shareholders of “Dares Datça Rüzgar Enerji Santrali Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S.” which was the operating company of the project activity. Both sponsors were affiliates of the Turkish Demirer Holding. The wind farm was constructed in May 2008 and began operating at the end of November 2008. The project was financed with a US$16.16 million equity contribution from sponsors and a UD$48.47 million 12 year maturity loan from the Garanti Bank. The project reached financial close in June 2008 as reported by the Infrastructure Journal. The project activity involved the installation of 36 turbines and the establishment of a 2 km high voltage transmission line between the proposed project area and the national grid.
