Description | The Dallas Area Rapid Transit's new Silver Line is a 26-mile rail service traversing seven cities with a final connection at DFW International Airport. It is the first DART project moving east to west and provides multiple connectivity points. Testing is underway with revenue service expected to begin in the coming months. The line will operate from 4-12:30 a.m. with trains every 30 minutes during peak hours and hourly during non-peak hours. The Silver Line will be a heavy rail running on diesel fuel with trains having a capacity of 230 passengers. Two stations in Richardson, CityLine/Bush Station and UT Dallas Station, are roughly 98% complete. DART has also purchased a building in Plano for equipment maintenance. |
