Darwin Port Operation and Lease

under operation with lease agreement

Darwin Port, operated by China's Landbridge Group, has undergone significant transformation over the past decade, including investments of over AUD 83 million to upgrade port facilities, resulting in increased vessel traffic and local economic development. The port operation was obtained through a transparent bidding process and has faced political and security reviews but no national security risks were found. The Australian government is considering forcibly taking back the port, which could have negative implications for international investment and bilateral relations.
