The principal objectives of this study are to: (i) determine the survival of emigrating steelhead smolts in the major tributaries of the San Joaquin River, in the mainstem of the San Joaquin River to the Delta, and through the Delta to Chipps Island; (ii) determine reach-specific mortality and export loss of tagged steelhead smolts; (iii) determine the influence of flow and exports on survival and route entrainment in each migratory reach; and (iv) test the effectiveness of experimental technologies in determining route entrainment and selection by tagged fish. (Refer to the Notice of Intent to Award Announcement No. R11AS20018 for additional information) A Determination by the Government not to compete this proposed financial assistance based upon Departmental Manual 505 DM 2, paragraph 2.14(B)(2) & (4) is solely within the discretion of the Government.
