Description | DataBank, a Dallas-based company, recently built a roughly 145,000-square-foot data center in the Orangeburg section of Orangetown and is seeking approval for a second phase expansion. The expansion plan was initially for another building of equal size but was cut in half to 78,000 square feet after scrutiny. The expanded operation would use a total of 30 megawatts to power its tech equipment and up to 45 megawatts overall for the business. The project has generated strong opposition due to concerns about power use, noise from diesel generators, environmental impact near Lake Tappan reservoir, and zoning issues. |
