Description | This project has 2 objectives: 1. Training European judiciary in using a violence extremism risk assessment tool (VERA-2R), in combination with implementation measures: An empirical based violence extremism risk assessment tool will help management and staff in European criminal justice agencies to identify and re-evaluate individuals of (potential) violent extremists and terrorists. Training and implementation will improve use and usability of the tool in the different judicial contexts. 2. Development European database violent extremists and jihadist terrorists and their extremist acts: Every European Member State (MS) has too few cases of violent extremists. A European database on violent extremists and terrorists will allow analyses and understanding of extremist risks and drivers, and will help improve strategy and policy interventions across MS. Activities - P1: Organisation 2-day exploration meeting, 4 two-day training programmes, and 2-day feedback meeting management and staff judiciary 6 MS. - P2: Development scoring and coding manuals, security guidance, 2-day training programme coders 6 MS with security clearance. Development and hosting of a database. Supervison coding case files. Datafile analysis. Production of a data report. Expected results - P1: Trained staff and management prosecution, prison and probation of 6 participating countries. Use and implementation risk assessment tool of violent extremism in daily practice by staff. - P2: Functioning database violent extremists of 6 MS. Type and number of persons who will benefit: - P1: 80 trained staff and management prison, prosecutors and probation officers 6 MS. - P2: 12 trained research assistants 6 MS. - General: > 500 interested professionals in Europe. Type and number of outputs: - P1: Training manuals VERA-2R different languages, Training programme, Implementation report - P2: Coding and scoring manuals different languages, Coding training programme, Database and data report |
