Description

The project entails the financing, construction and operation of a two solar power plants - Dau Tieng 1 and Dau Tieng 2 solar having capacity of 150-MW and 200-MW, respectively and are scheduled to become operational in 2018 and 2019. Aggregate investment in the Dau Tieng 1 and Dau Tieng 2 projects should amount to around 9,100 billion VND (around $397.4 million). The projects’ developers are Thailand-based energy company, B. Grimm Power Public Company Ltd and Vietnamese construction company, Xuan Cau Co. Ltd. The power generated by all grid-connected PV installations will be sold to local power utility Electricity Vietnam (EVN) over a period of 20 years.Under the government’s FIT scheme, owners of grid-connected PV power plants are awarded a 20-year FIT of 2,086 ($0.091)/kWh. Construction of the plants started in June 2018.
