Description
Description | The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) has opened its new David Geffen Galleries, a 347,500 sq ft museum building designed by Swiss architect Peter Zumthor. The project took two decades from conception to completion, overcoming delays due to a fossil discovery and the pandemic. The building features curvilinear walls, a single-level layout, and galleries organized by bodies of water rather than traditional art categories. It aims to reinvent the encyclopaedic museum experience for the 21st century. |
