Description | The project entails the first phase (30 MW) of the development of Daybreak Solar PV Plant in Nigeria, Sub-Saharan Africa. The total investment stands at $ 40 million. The funds in the amount of $20 million will be provided by International Finance Corporation and is part of their 140 MW solar expansion plan. The investment consist of $10 million – IFC loan and $10 million – subordinated loan from the Canada-IFC Renewable Energy Programme for Africa. The remaining $20 million will be sought through the Nigerian, Lagos based equity provider Daystar power group. Debt to equity ratio is 50:50.
