DCM Shriram Consolidated Limited (DSCL or the company) proposes to invest $74.2 million towards capacity expansion and upgrade of the environmental standards of its plants in the Indian state of Rajasthan. The project primarily involves expansion of the company’s PVC and carbide production capacities, the replacement of the company’s chlor-alkali production technology from mercury cells to the environment friendly and efficient membrane cells and supporting capital expenditure to increase captive power generation and expansion of the company’s network of agro-product retail stores. The Delhi Cloth Mills Co. Ltd. (DCM) was founded in 1889 by late Sir Shriram as a spinning mill in Delhi. Subsequently, it expanded and diversified into several industries, including sugar, chemicals, engineering and food products. In 1990, DSCL was carved out as a diversified public limited corporation based in north India with two core businesses: - plastics & chemicals, and - agro-business. DSCL is headquartered in New Delhi and has annual revenues of about $315 million. The company’s production facilities in India are located in Kota (Rajasthan), Bharuch (Gujarat), Ajbapur (Uttar Pradesh), and Rupapur (Uttar Pradesh).
