Description
Description | The Dead Sea Works Potash Project for Israel will increase the production of potash and bromine from the Dead Sea brine. Potash is one of the three major chemical fertilizers and this project will assist in its production. In addition, the Dead Sea Works (DSW) plans to add new facilities in order to produce dead burned magnesia (Magnesite), and table salt, as well as complete a number of minor projects, such as completion of an evaporating pan to increase potash, expansion and improvement of plant installations and pumping stations, drilling of additional fresh water wells, a warehouse at Eilat, laboratories and pilot plants, and an office building at Beersheba. Lack of adequate supplies of potash has prevented export to Asian and Africa markets but as production increases the DSW will concentrate on the development of its natural market area in these locations as well as other markets. |
