Dehradun 12 km Greenfield Bypass

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is constructing a 12 km Greenfield four-lane bypass in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, to reduce traffic congestion and improve regional connectivity. The bypass will connect Jhajhra to the Paonta Sahib–Ballupur section of NH-7 and terminate near Asharori Check Post, linking directly with the Delhi–Dehradun Economic Corridor. It aims to divert heavy and transit traffic away from Dehradun's urban core, ease congestion, reduce pollution, and improve mobility. The project emphasizes environmental sustainability and wildlife protection with features like optimized Right of Way, regulated speeds, vehicular and cattle overpasses, minor bridges, box culverts, and fencing to reduce human-wildlife conflict.
