Description | Dei BioPharma is a pharmaceutical manufacturing plant located in Matugga, Wakiso district, Uganda. The project aims to strengthen local drug production, reduce Uganda's dependence on imported medicines, and create thousands of skilled jobs. The facility currently produces about nine generic medicines and plans to expand into insulin, vaccines, and medicines for cardiovascular diseases. The government has invested over 700 billion Ugandan shillings (approximately US$190 million) in the project and is committed to buying medicines produced by the facility under the Buy Uganda, Build Uganda policy. |
