Description

Description

Delfin Midstream issued Siemens Energy Inc. a limited notice to proceed on July 15, 2026, to begin procuring long lead equipment for a second floating LNG production vessel to be moored in the Gulf of America at Delfin LNG. The equipment includes four SGT-750 gas turbines and mixed-refrigerant compressors. This is a key milestone needed to make a final investment decision (FID) on the second FLNG vessel, targeted for year-end 2026. The vessel will use the same design as the first FLNG vessel (FLNG1), which reached a $5 billion FID on June 3, 2026, and is currently in the execution phase. FLNG1 is expected to begin LNG production in 2030. Both vessels will have an expected nameplate capacity of 4.4 million tonnes per annum (mtpa). The second vessel will connect to existing offshore pipeline infrastructure at the Delfin Deepwater Port, which is being expanded as part of a phased multi-vessel development. Delfin is building onshore compression facilities to support the feedgas supply to the FLNG vessels and repurposing pipelines to transport natural gas to mooring sites. Delfin has signed a 20-year sale and purchase agreement with Centrica Energy for 0.25 mtpa from FLNG2. Delfin also made an agreement with MidOcean Energy, an LNG company formed by EIG, to sell a stake in FLNG2, allowing MidOcean to acquire up to 50% interest and receive a corresponding share of LNG production. The agreement is subject to FID and other customary conditions. Delfin and MidOcean will partner on future pre-development activities to potentially bring on a third FLNG vessel, adding an additional 4.4 mtpa of capacity, for a total of up to 13.2 mtpa of LNG production.
