Description
Description | Delhi government's Public Works Department (PWD) is introducing random on-site quality monitoring for its road and infrastructure projects using advanced testing equipment. The initiative includes procurement of tools to assess bitumen thickness, concrete quality, cutting depth, and filling layer thickness. Engineers will conduct random checks during project progress to ensure higher construction standards and durability. The first phase focuses on road-quality testing with block cutter machines to assess bitumen quality on roads under repair or construction. Based on test results, corrective measures will be planned. A total of 788 km of PWD-maintained roads are slated for redevelopment, with private firms undertaking the work. |
