The current status of the project is Notice to Proceed and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project Existing bridge was built in 1867. It has completed codal life and outlived its life. During monsoon, water level often crosses danger level and railway bridge has to be closed every year for a few days. Construction of new bridge will help in increasing passenger safety. It will also cut down the high maintenance required in maintaining the old bridge. |
