Description	The challenge of the MEDECOAZUL-MAC project is to determine, with official data, how much the sector of the Blue Economy weighs in GDP, agreeing a common definition of the maritime marine sector for the three regions, making its quantification in terms of employment and GVA. These official figures and the support that the three Statistical Bodies will be able to provide to the different institutions related to the sector, will make it possible to set, measure and evaluate the quantitative objectives of blue growth, while providing economic operators, especially administrations, researchers and associations related to the sea with information to set targets, stimulate subsectors with potential and monitor the measures taken. In addition, the methodologies developed may be extrapolated to other economic sectors.
