DELTA project was born out of the need to support the growth of the VET system in Ethiopia and the personal and professional development of young Ethiopians between the ages of 18 and 29, through an updated digital training toolkit that focuses on the issues most relevant to this development. In particular, the DELTA project focuses on the construction sector, as in the last 15 years the biggest challenge faced by Ethiopia has been to provide its population with an increasing number of affordable and decent homes. The project aims to increase the capacity of the VET sector to provide the Ethiopian labour market with professionals who are not only able to carry out the technical parts of the job, but also to actively collaborate in the development of the private construction sector through broader digital, entrepreneurial and management skills, in order to help private companies to structure themselves in a faster, more efficient way that is attentive to issues of inclusivity, respect for the environment and human dignity, as EU Values propose. Another macro-objective is to create strong entrepreneurial skills to support young people in self-employment. Finally, DELTA aims to start a process of recognition of competences based on EU frameworks like DigiComp, EntreComp and LifeComp using a system of microcredentials, as a first step for the Ethiopian VET system to include such certifications in their qualification methodologies. DELTA will implement a set of Capacity Building actions in 24 months, through 5 Work Packages: WP1 - PROJECT MANAGEMENT WP2 - ASSESSMENT OF EXISTING CB-SKILLS FRAMEWORKS WP3 - DELTA DIGITAL TOOLKIT FOR CB. WP4 - INTERACTIVE PLATFORM WP5- PILOT & MICRO-CREDENTIALS.
