Description

Description

"The objective of the DARE project is to develop, systematize, and implement the European dimension in the school's activities. The projekt will increase participation from both teachers and students and has three main objectives: increased participation in EU-related issues among students and teachers, more knowledge-sharing events and activities with an EU focus, and greater awareness of European values. The school provides the course ""Europe in the World,"" which focuses on European studies, including history, democracy, human rights, and current EU issues. The goal is for more students to choose the course, creating broader engagement with EU-related topics. Methods in the project include study trips to ""Experience Europe"" in Stockholm and EU institutions in Brussels, political debates and role-playing, the creation of websites, discussions on human rights, and a discussion club for European issues. Students in the ""Europe in the World"" course organize an EU café and a political debate once per academic year, as well as role-playing activities on EU topics for students in the social sciences and economics programs. External lecturers are invited to increase knowledge and engagement. A key factor is increasing the understanding among colleagues teaching social studies. This is achieved by clarifying that EU education encompasses more dimensions than institutions and the historical development of the EU. Systematic and recurring subject meetings, the development, use, and evaluation of educational materials are part of the collegial learning process. Teachers will participate in an educational trip to Brussels with the aim of increasing knowledge and engagement. Furthermore, educational materials with ethical dilemmas linked to the challenges of democracy within the EU will be developed. The project strengthens European identity and active citizenship in line with the Jean Monnet Initiative's work program. "
