Description

Description

Insufficient physical activity is a leading risk factor for death and chronic disease worldwide. Physical activity has significant health benefits and contributes to preventing of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) and delivering key global and national health and well-being goals. The sport and physical activity sector can deliver on the health agenda while addressing other areas of need in Erasmus+ such as promoting social cohesion, driving innovation, and strengthening European identity and active citizenship. We need to work now to build future workforce capacity to lead on the complexities and ambiguities of these connected global challenges. This project seeks to design a joint Master Level Programme in Democratic and Digital Citizen Health and Well-being consistent with the European Approach for Quality Assurance of Joint Programmes. In line with the International Standard Classification of Education (ISCED) level 7 / Master’s programmes, it will provide participants with advanced academic and professional knowledge. The proposal describes the establishment of an agreed quality-assured pathway for the development of an international master’s degree in the multi-disciplinary areas of democratic and digital methods for health and well-being enhancement. The academic programme, leading to a master’s degree, has at its core the intention to provide graduates who have developed greater competencies in inclusive physical activity and sport, and promote health and well-being enhancement through traditional but, in particular, through digital technologies for wider accessibility. The programme and graduates will emphasise that cross-border collaboration in modern health and well-being enhancement methods also create the basis for supporting inclusion, gender equality, and cultural respect and sustainable development. The programme will be globally appealing and relevant, adding to the attractiveness of the EHEA.
