Foundation International Communications Hub (Comms Hub) promotes and raises awareness of rights as laid down in the EU Treaties, and applicable international conventions. We empower pro-democracy and social justice movements to shape public democratic discourse through data-driven communication strategies. Using research and digital tools, we strengthen democracy amidst growing authoritarianism, intolerance, and polarization. Through our three-year program, Democratic Pulse Tracking, we produce research-based narrative insights to help pro-democracy and social justice movements become more impactful communicators, allowing Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to engage EU citizens in democratic debate on a larger scale. From 2026 to 2028, Comms Hub will conduct Democratic Pulse Tracking for 15 EU countries. Additionally, in 2027 and 2028, we will monitor the discourse of Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) and conduct polling in 10 countries. We aim to reach over 20 million EU citizens and engage over 1,000 people from CSOs in ideation and strategy spaces to enhance their capacity to engage citizens throughout the EU. We operate three organizational workstreams: 1. Digital research and social insight 2. Public opinion research 3. Ideation and strategy spaces Workstreams 1 and 2 enhance critical thinking and media literacy. Workstream 1 interprets big data to distil engaging narrative trends related to democracy in the EU. Workstream 2 deepens our understanding of why certain narratives attract engagement. Workstream 3 makes these insights accessible to CSOs, building their capacity to engage Europeans in democratic discourse, fostering mutual learning, offering training to CSOs, and hosting the exchange of best practices. Our public-facing monitoring and insights reports raise awareness about the narratives shaping democratic debates in 15 European countries and at the EU level, providing transnational perspectives and policy recommendations.
