It was initiated following the declaration, on April 22, 2017, of the presence of the Ebola virus in the province of Bas-Uélé neighbor of the Central African Republic. These include the following urgent actions: active search for suspected cases and contacts; the care of patients in the health centers of the 4 health areas affected by the epidemic; reinforcement of individual and collective prevention measures in the community and in the health structures; providing health facilities with protective equipment, personal items, medicines, reagents, consumables and other inputs; the reinforcement of the field intervention teams by experts from the central level; the deployment in the coming days of a mobile laboratory team in Likati; intensification of public awareness through different media; strengthening of coordination through the establishment of coordination committees at different levels. The contribution of the African Development Bank Group to this operation is estimated at US $ 1,000,000. |
