Description

Description

The Multi-sector Emergency Project for rehabilitation of social-economic infrastructures (PMURIS) was initiated in the framework of Multi-Sector Emergency Rehabilitation And Reconstruction Programme (PMURR), established by the Congolese Authorities. The latter is defined as an indispensable instrument for objectives of growth and poverty reduction which are targeted in the PRSP-1, adopted by the Government. The project should help to: rehabilitate the water supply systems in Kinshasa and Boma, rehabilitate REGIDESO training centre, central workshop and laboratories at the Ndjili station, four (4) bore-holes and ‘places à vivre.’ It should also help to procure protection and erosion-control equipment, rehabilitate basic infrastructures (road, drainage, solid wastes) as well as establish a restructuring plan to rationalise the use of soil in Ngomba quarter. The PMURIS includes four components namely: A) Rehabilitation of Potable Water Supply Systems; B) Sanitation and Erosion Control; C) Rehabilitation of Social Infrastructures (education, health and social protection infrastructures); and D) Project Management.
