Democratic Republic of Congo - Public Finance Modernisation Support Project (PAM-FP)

The present project focuses on supporting Modernization of Public Finance (PAM-FP). This is an integrated response to help the Government meet the challenges mentioned above, and takes the form of a reform support programme. The intervention aims to strengthen social inclusion through economic growth, with an impact on reducing poverty and inequality. Furthermore, the project is consistent with the priorities listed in the Bank’s 2008- 2012 Results-Based Country Strategy Paper (RBCSP) which lays emphasis on promoting good governance and pro-poor growth, especially under its Pillar I: Support to good governance based on building Government’s capacity to formulate, implement and monitor macro-economic and sector policies, and make public finance management more transparent. The project comprises the following components: A) support for the reorganization and modernization of public finances; B) support for the reorganization and modernization of public finances Bas-Congo, Province Orientale and Maniema; and C) project management and coordination.
