Description | The project involves the demolition of the abandoned 1914 Nueces County Courthouse in Corpus Christi, Texas. The courthouse has been vacant for nearly 50 years and redevelopment is not feasible. The demolition is funded partly by a $2 million agreement with the Corpus Christi Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone No. 3, with the county covering additional costs. Demolition must be completed by December 31, 2028, or the county will have to repay funds. The county plans to begin demolition no later than May 2027, with intentions to start as early as 2026. |
