Description | This project will consist of the enhancement of Georgia Street with streetscape improvements. These improvements are the first phase of master plan improvements which will create improved pedestrian connections throughout Demorest. This phase of TE project improvements will provide: new ADA accessible sidewalks with appropriate clear zones, new benches and trash receptacles, pedestrian lighting (with breakaway-bases), and landscaping. The project will also include traffic calming features · to improve pedestrian safety at the intersection of Georgia Street, Holly Street, and Hazel Avenue. Bump outs may be added at corners if turning radii allow. New sidewalks will be installed on Georgia Street southeast of Historic 441/Central Avenue, where there are presently no pedestrian sidewalks. |
