Description | The project involves the construction of a 5MW biomass power plant in the rural region of Mahiyanganaya, Sri Lanka. The Dendro project sponsor is Tokyo Cement Group. The Rs 2.4 billion biomass plant was built by Tokyo Power, the energy arm of Sri Lanka’s leading cement and concrete manufacturer, Tokyo Cement Group, in co-operation with LAWI Engineering.The 5 MW Dendro power plant is expected to contribute approximately 40 million kWh annually to the national grid using sustainable green energy sources, notably Gliricidia, a fast-growing tree.
