The plant is designed to process 600 Tonnes Per Day (TPD) of waste and generate about 8 MW of electricity. The project began in June 2022 with a budget of ₹648 crore but has faced delays in statutory clearances, pushing the commissioning date to mid-2026 from the original October 2025 deadline. The plant aims to convert fresh municipal solid waste into green power and will supply electricity either to the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) or for in-house use at the Bhandup water complex. |
