Description

Description

The project consists of the replacement of a deteriorated historic covered bridge with the Province’s first 2-lane covered timber bridge capable of supporting the full weight of larger trucks. The scope of the construction includes the removal of the current temporary bridge structure and the construction of a two-lane bridge 0.18 kilometres in length. The Vaughan Creek Bridge is a vital component to the Fundy Trail Parkway. The original covered bridge failed its inspection in 2017 and is currently replaced by a temporary modular bridge which only allows one-way traffic. A permanent replacement is needed. The project will result in an improved and more reliable bridge for the town of St. Martins.
