Description
Description | The current project, IFC Support for G-20 Compact with Africa Initiative (ISCA), is a payment into a multi-donor trust fund that implements study and advisory measures in the twelve countries identified as part of the G20 Compact with Africa (CwA). The aim is to contribute to improving the framework conditions for broad-based and sustainable private sector investment in various sectors yet to be determined in the compact countries. To achieve this, the resources from the trust fund will be used to produce studies and reports and to finance advisory services in the following areas: o Component 1 Identification of key bottlenecks for private investment at country level and in selected sectors, o Component 2 Improvement of the framework conditions for private investment, o Component 3 Strengthening government capacities to improve the investment climate, o Component 4 Strengthening the capacity of private companies with a high potential development impact. The target group is the population in the participating countries. This currently amounts to around 364 million people. Intermediaries and beneficiaries are potential and current owners of formal and informal, local and international companies and their employees as well as government agencies. The project is an open program that KfW implements directly. It commissions the International Finance Corporation (IFC) of the World Bank Group to implement it. The IFC acts as trustee of the ISCA Fund and the donor funds paid in. Germany is the founding financier of the trust fund with a FC contribution of EUR 10 million. The aim is for the trust fund to have a total volume of USD 40 million. |
