Derby Market Place Redevelopment

project awarded

The Derby Market Place Redevelopment project involves the large-scale transformation of a key city-centre site, including the historic Market Place and the former Assembly Rooms, which have remained unused for years. The scheme aims to deliver a vibrant mixed-use destination by introducing cultural, commercial, and community-focused spaces. Central to the development is the proposed “Derby MADE” building, which will provide facilities such as a music venue, exhibition areas, a library for young people and families, and flexible workspaces. The project also includes improvements to public spaces, along with potential additions like offices, residential units, and a hotel, all designed to boost economic activity, attract visitors, and create a lively, modern hub for the city.
