Description | The Des Neiges wind farm project consists of multiple phases to develop wind energy capacity northeast of Quebec City. The first two phases include the southern sector and the Charlevoix sector, comprising 114 turbines generating 800 MW of wind energy, enough to power 140,000 homes. The project is developed by Quebec's hydro utility, Boralex, and Energir, located on the grounds of the Seminaire de Quebec in the Charlevoix region. The third phase, if completed, will increase output to 1,200 MW, contributing to Hydro-Quebec's goal of adding 10,000 MW of wind power by 2035. The first two phases are scheduled to come online by the end of 2027 and late 2028 respectively. |
