The project is designed to meet growing electricity demand in the southwestern United States, driven by population growth, high-tech industry demand, and data center expansion. The expected cost is approximately $5.6 billion, with 85% of capital expenditures anticipated in 2027 and beyond. The project initiated the FERC pre-filing process in March 2026, with the formal certificate application expected in Q4 2026, and is anticipated to enter service in Q4 2029. |
