Description | The Desert Sun Power Plant is a state-of-the-art natural gas facility planned west of Gila Bend, Arizona. It will add up to 2,000 megawatts of reliable, flexible generation to Arizona's energy portfolio to meet rapidly growing needs, support extra-large energy users, and enhance renewable energy integration while protecting affordability for residential and small business customers. The project will be executed in two phases: Phase 1 supports current customer growth through competitive procurement, and Phase 2 enables new extra-large customer investments via a subscription model where extra-large users fund the capacity through long-term contracts. |
