Description

Description

The bank along Mud Creek adjacent to a City Works Yard is eroding due to flow path erosion from the works yard to the creek. This project will address the flow path deficiencies from the works yard discharging to the creek and will rehabilitate the eroded creek bank caused by the overall discharge problems. The bank stabilization measures proposed are the direct result of uncontrolled stormwater conveyance to the receiver (Mud Creek), as a result of development. This project will introduce a new stormwater infiltration swale with rock check dams to provide treatment and reduce the flow and velocity of stormwater sheet drainage from the site. As well, the degraded creek bank resulting from the cumulative effects of uncontrolled sheet drainage will be stabilized to ensure a stable outlet for the site as well as a stable shoreline for the creek corridor. The project will include a new rip-rap outlet and sediment trap from the works yard to the creek as well as new plantings to stabilize the existing banks.
