Description
Description | The Design Measure (DM) in Modern Nordic Culture Studies (MNCS) aims to prepare an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master application by February 2027. The consortium, consisting of eight European universities, will develop a comprehensive 120 ECTS 2-year master programme. This program will focus on Nordic democratic and educatory practices, cultural and literary heritage, and employability skills. The consortium will leverage their research capabilities to create courses that analyze the interplay between cultural artifacts, public culture, political processes, and social institutions. During the DM period, the consortium will conduct a needs analysis to support students' career aspirations in research, public institutions, and private enterprises. By building a broad public-private partnership, the program will offer internships that align with students' career interests. Additionally, the consortium will plan for students' well-being, intercultural competencies, and physical mobility between partner universities. The initiative builds on the EU-funded University Alliance EPICUR, thus enhancing administrative and cross-border educatory practices. The MNCS program aims to strengthen EU values of democracy, equality, and cultural heritage. The MNCS consortium will also focus on integrating digital innovation and green transition strategies into the study programme. By collaborating with centers of digital research and professionals in the field, the programme will provide students with practical knowledge of digitization in Nordic countries. Furthermore, the consortium will develop a strategy to immerse students in climate change thinking and empower them to contribute to societal agendas. The programme will allow students to experience Nordic Studies and cultures in various European settings, fostering academic excellence and personal development. |
